The Bit Scud pattern is almost always in my top 3 for best producing flies. The X Series of Bit Scuds adds more components of the base color to the fly, making it at times the go to fly. A #20 X-Gray Bit Scud should be in every Taneycomo fisherman's fly box and I haven't found a trout stream anywhere in the U.S. where they don't love them in various sizes. The simple little Bit Scud and its X-Series sisters will never win a beauty contest but just fish it one time and you'll think it's the most beautiful girl at the dance.
