Toxic Scud - A mutation of a freshwater shrimp pattern that has nasty written all over it. This is a BIG WATER bug fished best in heavy generation in your favorite tailwater or high volume CFS trout stream. I refined this pattern when my home waters of the Taneycomo Tailwater was muddy, had 10 flood gates open and water levels up to 20' higher than normal. Even with shad coming through the flood gates this fly had their attention more often than not. This isn't a delicate little drifter through a quiet, calm flow...this is an in your face, real meal fly that a fish will move through current to take.
