Hello! I’m Brett Rader. Owner, lead guide, and fly tyer of Chartered Waters. Thank you for visiting our site and I hope we can show you this wonderful fishery known as Lake Taneycomo! Lake Taneycomo is actually the tail water of Table Rock Dam. It’s really a river and fishes more like a river than a lake. It’s flows are constant yet ever changing so adaptability is key in maintaining a good bite all day long.

You’ll find knock offs at several locations...you’ll only find the originals right here. We offer flies and fly packages for any method you plan on fishing while you’re here. Not only are these patterns good on Taneycomo...but they’ve been proven on hundreds of other trout waters across this country with incredible success. We’ve also developed techniques that allow spin fishermen to use these same flies the fly fishermen use in a very unique and extremely effective way. We’ll show you those techniques if spin fishing is your preferred technique.
